How To Get Chapstick Out Of Clothes?

Chapstick or lip balm is a mixture of wax and oil mixed with dye. When the chapstick is swept on our clothes accidentally, it sticks for a very long time. What to do? Follow our three simple steps below, as it will help you remove the chapstick right away!

Step 1: Scrape Off The Chapstick Stains

Yes, scrape the chapstick off the surface of clothes instead of rubbing it. Scraping off the stains will help prevent the chapstick from embedding further into the fibers.

To scrape off the chapstick, you can use the edge of a spoon, a dull knife, or an expired credit card. Next, one hand keeps the clothes where the stain is while your other hand holds the dull knife and scrapes over it gently until you see the chapstick gradually fade away.

Step 2: Pretreat With Detergent

In this step, washing powder needs to be applied. Choose the one with strong effects, like Omo or Tide. First, put a small amount of detergent on the chapstick stain. Let it rest for 5 minutes. Next, use a soft brush to comb on the chapstick stain again and again for 1-2 minutes. And then, let the washing powder rest on the stain for 30 minutes more.

Step 3: Rewash And Check

Rewash the clothes in hot water, and check whether the chapstick has gone yet. The high temperature helps release the stain better. If you still see the chapstick trace, repeat these steps above again till there is no stain left on your clothes.
